18 September
Steaua defeated Aalborg in the UEFA Europa League group stage with a score of 6-0 and equaled the performance from October 1979 when they won 6-0 against Swiss Young Boys Berna. These results are the biggest wins in the history of team's participation in European competitions.
9 September
Steaua won the third Romanian Supercup in a row. The red and blues won the match against Rapid 4-0, thanks to the goals scored by Dennis Serban (19), Laurenţiu Roşu (27, 69) and Ilie Dumitrescu (87).
17 September
The first match between two Romanian coaches in European competitions took place: Steaua - Anorthosis Famagusta, in the first round of the UEFA Cup. Steaua was coached by Emerich Ienei, while the team from Cyprus had Anghel Iordanescu on the bench. Eventually, Steaua qualified after 2-1 and 2-2.
7 September
Steaua won 5-1 in Prague, against AC Sparta, in the first round of the European Champions Cup and established the clearest away victory in the history of the club's participation in European competitions.
22 September
Mihai Teja, the 43rd coach of the team, was bonr in Bucharest.
14 September
Steaua played their first match against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Cup, 1-5 away. Viorel Năstase scored the only goal of the red and blues.
19 September
Laurenţiu Reghecampf, a former player and the 39th coach of the team, was born in Târgoviște. As a footballer, he won two titles, a Cup and a Supercup of Romania. As a coach: two titles, one Super Cup and one League Cup.
16 September
After three failed European campaigns, Steaua qualified in the European competitions for the first time. It happened in the Cup Winner's Cups, after a double win (3-0 and 2-0) against Derry City.
13 September
Steaua played their first match in the Cup Winner's Cup, against Bulgarian team Botev Plovdiv (3-2). The goals were scored by Voinea, Constantin and Crișan.
7 September
Tudorel Stoica, one of the best midfielders in the history of the club, captain of the team during the golden age, was born. Stoica holds the absolute record of the number of matches played for Steaua: 368. Throughout his career, Tudorel Stoica won the European Champions' Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, 7 champion titles and 5 Romanian Cups.
4 September
Florian Marinescu became the first scorer in the history of the team after the lost match against CFR Timisoara, 1-7.
14 September
The biggest loss in the history of the First League, 0-7 against ITA.
28 September
ASA played the first home game on the Republicii Stadium. Part of the tribune can still be seen today. ASA - FC Ploieşti 1-2.
26 September
Nicolae Dragan, one of the most important strikers in the club's early days, was born.
25 September
Constantin Teasca, the 13th coach of the team, was born in Giurgiu.
26 September
Ştefan Dobay, the sixth coach of the team, Was born, in Dumbrăviţa (Timiş).
