Darius Olaru is a footballer born on March 3, 1998, in Mediaş. Darius started football at the age of 8, at the School Sports Club Mediaş, from where he transferred to Gas Metan Mediaş, after six years. He made his debut in the Gas T-shirt in the 2015-2016 season, when the team was in the Second League, in a disputed, away game, with UTA (2-1), in which he scored a goal. With the promotion, came the first match in Liga I, the one from Giurgiu, with Astra (2-0), when he entered the game extensions. At the age of 21, Olaru played 120 matches in the team shirt Gaz metan Mediaș, for which he scored 11 goals. Darius also played with the youth teams in Romania.
