Ianis Stoica became the youngest player in the history of the club to score. At that time, Stoica was 14 years, 10 months and 18 days old. Ianis Stoica scored the goal in the 6-1 win against Sanatatea Cluj, played in the Romanian Cup.

Marius Lăcătuş was appointed coach of Steaua and became the second person in the history of the club to manage all important positions in the club: player-coach-president. The first one was Ilie Savu.

NEW. French striker Cyril Théréau became the first foreign player to score for Steaua. It happened in the Steaua Championship - CFR Cluj, score 4-2, when the French footballer scored in the 44th minute.

Ilie Stan, former player and the 33rd coach of the team, was born in Pogoanele. As a footballer, he won six champion titles, three Cups and two Romanian Supercup.

CCA won the friendly match against English team Luton Town, 4-3, in their UK tournament. Ştefan Onisie scored a violent goal, which broke the net. The next day, a British newspaper titled "Onisie's rocket."

Marcel Răducanu, a striker with a special technique, was born. He played 229 matches in the first league for Steaua and scored 94 goals. On July 31st 1981, he fled to Germany, after a national team match and asked for political asylum. After a one-year suspension, he signed with Borussia Dortmund.

Viorel Năstase, an important striker in the 1970s, was born. In 166 matches for Steaua, he scored 78 goals. He played six matches in European competitions: three of them were against FC Barcelona, in which he scored four goals. During the communist era, he fled to Switzerland and he signed his first professional contract with TSV Munchen 1860 in 1980.

Stefan Şameş, former team captain, winner of four champion titles with Steaua, was born.

Vasile Iordache, one of the best goalkeepers of Steaua and Romanian football, was born in Iași. He won three champion titles and three Romanian cups, all with Steaua.

Andrei Mercea became the first player of the club to wear the national team's shirt, in the 0-0 draw against Poland.

AS Armata won the first match in Division A, 3-0 against Oţelul Resita.

Dumitru Popescu became the first player to score two goals in a match in the 3-1 win against Juventus Bucharest. Also in this match, AS Armata benefited from the first owngoal in its history, by Dumitru Pepelea.
